Broad Street Trash Fash
It's hard not to notice the mounds of garbage that I walk through every day in North Philadelphia. After walking into my house, conveniently located between two houses, kicking off my sandals and noticing all the sut on my feet, I've decided I should use my hobby of DIY to do some good. Introducing- Broad Street Trash Fash, handmade pieces made of garbage found along the streets of Philadelphia. Hey, they say one mans trash is another man's treasure.

ps. All these pieces have been sterilized, of course!

I made this piece out of old hardware materials. The materials had been sitting around for about a year in an empty lot, so my grandfather allowed me to take it home to do something with it. And, tada!

Hey guys! I’ve been going to Temple University in North Philadelphia for a little over a year now, and it’s obvious to say that littering is a huge problem around here. I’ve decided to combine my love for making jewelry, accessories and clothing and put it towards a greater good. After walking by a strip of rubber on the ground and thinking…”wow this would look great as a cuff”, I decided this blog was a necessity. I’m going to collect usable trash from the streets, sterilize it and create pieces with it to share with you guys. The idea is pretty undeveloped now, but at one point I’d like to sell these pieces and donate portions to Temple clubs that will clean up everything I don’t. Also, I’d like to have different people to model and create their own pieces to be featured on my page. Let me know what you think of my pieces!
